Topsy-Turvy Ponytail

One of the most popular hairstyles in the world is the ponytail. And it is no hard work to figure out why – it is easy to do, basically a 5-year-old can do it; it is quick to do, you just put all your hair in an elastic band and you are done; and it has a nice cooling effect on your neck in the hot summer days. Well, a ponytail is a nice classic hairstyle, but how about giving some twist to it to make it more interesting and not so usual. Here is an idea how to make your ponytail topsy-turvy.

Step 1
Preparation is important. If your hair is not the way it should be for a particular hairstyle, then the effect could not be achieved. Remember Jennifer Aniston and her famous bun for the Oscars. So, for this hairstyle your hair needs to be clean, dry and brushed so well that there is not a single tangle on it. And only then you will be ready to move on.

Step 2
Now section your hair in two main parts. The first one to be the hair on your crown and the second – the hair from about the level of your ears and below it. Secure the first section of hair with an elastic band leaving it hanging as a normal ponytail.

Step 3
Find the middle part of the ponytail before the elastic band and make a space there. Now you will have two smaller sections of hair in your ponytail, so make sure they are more or less with the same size. You will need it for the second step.

Step 4
Now, continue holding the hole in the ponytail take two strands of hair (the ones that were left untouched in the beginning, right about on the level of your ears) from each side of your head. Then pull them through the hole that you made in the ponytail.

Step 5
Secure the newly-arrived strands of hair in the ponytail with some bobby pins and spray your hair with some hair spray to stay this way.

Step 6
You are ready! Enjoy your hairstyle!
