Orient-Inspired Eye Makeup

When you run out of ideas for your makeup, hair or nails, always search for inspiration in other culture’s styles. Everyone like the exotic designs, especially when they are applied as your makeup. Down below you will find an eyeliner design, inspired by the oriental style. Take a look at the steps if you want to achieve the very same result:

The oriental makeup style is well known with two characteristic features – bold eyebrows and large eyes. Let’s start with the first feature. You will need your brow kit, but if you don’t have one, you shouldn’t worry about it, because you can create bold and dark brows with your other makeup tools and products. Use an angled brush to draw the shape of the brow. You can use the same brush to fill in the brow with the color. Don’t forget to highlight the brow bone, because this is one of the tricks that will create an effect of bigger looking eyes.

Then, prepare the lids for the makeup with primer. It will keep the liner from smudging. I recommend you to use tinted primer, because the lid will be nude and if it is reddish, your makeup won’t be flawless.

Apply black color on the outer V-corner of the eye. Smudge it in order to create smoky effect.

Then draw the classic cat-eye liner with thick and long wing at the outer corner of the eye.

So far the makeup looks classic and simple, but the next step will bring the oriental style. Draw a thick smoky line at the bottom lid of the eye. Create a flick at the inner corner of the eye, not the outer one. And try not to cover the bottom waterline with the black color, because you will shrink the eye if you cover it.

Instead, cover the bottom waterline with white color.

Apply mascara and put faux lashes.

Done!
