Different Nail Shapes

Oval Nails. This is the traditional nail shape. It’s a secure way to look good, without risking any styles that may not look so great on you. The oval shape gives more feminine look and sense. This shape is perfect for short fingers, because it will visually elongate them.

Round Nails. The round shape of nails is more sophisticated and conservative. If you ned your hands for work this is the most convinient and appropriate shape for you. This shape is easy to maintain. Just follow the curve of your finger and your nails will look absolutely natural, healthy and good looking.

Square Nails. You can see this shape, flattering women’s hands, very often. It’s the most popular one. It’s strong shape. Your nails won’t break easily. It’s also easy to get. Trim your nails in the length you want and pile in rectangular shape. Just smooth the corners of the nail, don’t overdo them, because you will get oval shape. This smoothing is recommended for your convinience. Also this shape is perfect for long fingers, if you have short finger, you’d better consider another shape.

Squoval Nails. This is a shape that doesn’t have it’s own name, because it’s something between the square and the oval, it’s called The Squoval. It’s perfect if you want to keep your nails strong and even. It’s easy to file your nails in the squoval shape. Shape the oval, but flatten the tip of the nail. This shape is perfect for both short and long nails.

Almond Nails. This is probably the most girly shape you can get. There is a trick for doing this nail shape. Mark a small spot in the center of your nail tip and file toward the dot. Leave the tip flat and round it nicely. This is your almond shape, enjoy it, because it will elongate your fingers and it will give your feminine look and sense.

Stiletto Nails. This is more sophisticated nail shape. It’s not traditional and if you are more adventurous. You know it by the name. You are familiar with the Stiletto shape from the shoes. This shape is similar to the almond one, but the tip is more sharp and pointy. File the nail as you are doing the almond shape, but don’t leave the tip flat. Point it out. Round it just a little bit, so it won’t hurt anybody. Keep in mind that this is the most fragile nail shape, so it won’t be good choice for daily use.
