Contouring Tips For Beginners

As a girl who cares a lot about her look, you definitely will be interested in this tutorial, because it is all about the contouring and highlighting technique, which is a huge trend among the makeup techniques. It is something like the queen of the makeup techniques. So, take a look at the tips I’m about to share with you and you will be able to apply them in your makeup routine.

Tip #1

You have to choose wisely the colors for the contouring and highlighting makeup. The contouring makeup must be two or three shades darker than your natural skin complexion.

The highlighting color must be two or three shades lighter than the skin complexion.

Tip #2

Choose the type of the makeup products according to your skin type. If it is dry and covered in large pores, you should use liquid products – foundations or concealers.

But if your skin is smooth and oily, you can rely on the powder coverage products. It is important to choose wisely the type of the coverage products, otherwise you will look like a badly masked clown.

Tip #3

Always protect the pores of the skin with a makeup primer. This is a thin layer of base, which will prevent any of the coverage material to get into the pores and to clog them. We all know what the clogged pores mean – blackheads. In order to prevent such a disaster, always apply a makeup primer on the facial skin before the contouring and highlighting.

Tip #4

The easiest way to define where to put the contour and where to put the highlighter is to take a flash light and point it directly to the center of the face. The places which catch the light are the ones that must be covered in highlighter. The places that stay in the shadow, they must be covered with the darker color.

Finally, blend in everything in order to merge the colors and apply a setting powder. Enjoy!
