6 Things You Should Know About Your Skin in Your 20s

When women begin to notice that their skin is no longer the young and elastic one that it was years ago, in their 20s, it is already too late. The negative effects of the environment and the way they treat their skin, have already put their sign on the skin. The reason of this is that when their skin is beautiful, women hardly think about the consequences and what will happen to their skin later in life if they do not take care of it. Here are 6 things you should know about your skin when you are in your 20s. If you keep them in mind, you won’t regret later.
1 The sun is dangerous, even if you are young
Going to the beach is great, but what most people do not realize is that sunbathing is dangerous for their skin. They lie on the sand without applying any sun cream and think that the worst thing that could happen to them is to get sunburnt, which will be cured for a couple of days. However, the consequences will be much worse. Your skin will begin to grow old without you realizing it. And in 10 years you will look like you are 50 years old and not 30. Never underestimate the sun rays, and if you cannot escape them in the summer, just remember always to apply sun cream, even if you do not intend to go to the beach and only for a walk in the park. The sun will get you wherever you are. So, make sure your skin is covered, even with clothes.

2 All kinds of tanning tools are dangerous
Ok, you want to have tan and you may think that if the sunlight is not good for your skin, then some of the other tan-achieving tools could be of your service. This is absolute myth, and if anyone tells you that tanning beds are safer than the sun tan, do not believe them. Whatever changes the pigmentation of your skin is not safe, and even the amount of UVB and UVA are higher. Thus, the possibility of being effected by skin cancer is higher. After all, health is much more important than beauty, and vanity in some cases, so do not make experiments with it and just avoid such tanning beds.

3 Smoking cigarettes ages the skin
Warnings about how your skin will begin aging when you start smoking have probably reached you when you were a teenager, or even younger. And still, despite all of these visual and verbal warnings, teenagers still begin smoking. And if this is one of your habits, try to give it up immediately. It is just not worth it, a moment of acting “cool” to damage your skin and your health. Cigarettes effect the system which creates collagen, thus leaving you with deep wrinkles and dark circles under the eyes. Just think twice before you turn smoking cigarettes into one of your bad habits. And speaking of bad habits…

4 Alcohol dehydrates the skin
Drinking alcohol is another of the bad habits young people have, unfortunately some of them do not outgrow this stage and continue drinking alcohol later in life. Alcohol has a lot of negative effects not only on your behavior, but it dehydrates you as well. And we all know what dehydration means – if the needed amount of water does not reach your skin, it will get dry and will not only look old, but it will become older. What you can do, if you do not want to stop drinking alcohol completely, is to drink one or two glasses of water for every glass of booze you have. This way you will keep your skin hydrated and younger.

5 Never, ever spoil your sleep
A lot of people in their 20s study, but they also have to work so that they can pay for their education. Unfortunately, the more things they have to do, the less time they will have for relaxation and sleep. And lack of sleep is disastrous for your skin. It prevents it from rejuvenating itself. Sleep helps all of your body function the right way, including your skin. So, if you want to have strong, glowing, and young skin, you have to sleep well for at least 7 or 8 hours a day. You will still have time for your job and your lessons.

6 Exfoliating is good
If you are not used to exfoliating your skin, then you should change it immediately, because exfoliating could be your strongest tool when you want to have healthy skin. The method is simple and it won’t take you more than a few minutes. When you exfoliate your skin, you not only remove the dead skin cells, but you also send a signal to it that it has to produce some new ones, which to be smooth and glowing. Easy and fast.
